Spraytech Enfield Industry Showcase Event

Following a number of successful AutoRaise Industry Showcase Events, Spraytech Enfield is hosting an Industry Showcase Event (ISE) to welcome young people, parents and schools to the high-tech repair facility.

Spraytech Enfield is investing in future talent and inviting local pupils, school and their parents to an open day on Saturday, December 9th. There are two sessions: 10:30am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 2:30pm

Address: Spraytech Enfield, 222 Alma Road, Enfield, Middlesex, EN3 7BB

Young people, parents and guardians, and local visitors will get a hands-on look at the latest accident repair products and workshop processes – from painting and prepping accident damaged vehicles, to plastic welding, computer resets and calculating the cost to repair a crashed car.

The open event will see Spraytech Enfield’s whole team get involved in welcoming potential apprentices to what could be their first experience of the bodyshop world. The senior management team, leaders and technicians will get ‘hands-on’ with live demonstrations, sharing technical information and proving a neat, insider’s view of bodyshop repair processes.

To spread the word about the open day Spraytech Enfield has fully embraced all marketing channels to maximum effect: the bodyshop has engaged with several local schools, clubs and businesses, advertised locally and contacted previous customers – alongside a focused social media promotion.

“Spraytech is an ambitious and growing business so we are proud to be holding the biggest event yet with AutoRaise,” said Harry Charles, Managing Director, Spraytech Group. “We are planning to bring 300 – 400 young adults to Spraytech on Saturday 9th December and have extended the invitation to young offenders, to show the opportunities for apprenticeships in our industry. The Mayor of Enfield will be present, accompanied by my father’s sister who has an OBE.

“Many work providers will be present and LKQ are supporting us. It’s going to be a busy day; we have loads of demonstrations running on-site during the morning and afternoon sessions and our local boxing club, Edmonton Eagles, will be demonstrating some boxing skills.

“There will be a BBQ and also drinks, and we’re pleased to announce that Hellenic TV will be attending on the day.”

AutoRaise – the vehicle repair industry charity – is supporting Harry Charles and his management team. This latest event is part of a series of regional Industry Showcase Events to attract young people into what is a fast-moving, highly skilled, exciting and rewarding industry.

Interest from local schools and colleges has been promising; all agree it’s a great idea and many have said they have been looking for this sort of event to introduce career options to young people.

“Together with Harry and his team we will provide a positive experience for all those young people and their parents who attend to convey what a great industry we have,” said Bob Linwood, AutoRaise CEO. “Harry’s enthusiasm and dedication for finding and developing the best new talent is infectious. We can’t wait to show the local community that Spraytech is a fantastic, local employer and what a lucrative and financially rewarding career it can be. This will be AutoRaise’s first ISE in such a highly populated area. In this respect, Spraytech will be important ambassadors of inner-city ISE events,” said Bob.

It’s essential that the industry gets behind addressing the skills shortage, whether it be taking on new apprentices, hosting Industry Showcase Events or simply helping to spread the word.
